Music sequencers are great sandboxes for kids to make their own little tracks and experiment with music loops.

I used to let kids play with some sequencers online in UX interviews - they always enjoyed it, but most are a bit too complicated or not that appealing for a younger audience.

Had fun making this prototype, surprising how technical audio engineering can get.
Will work on mobile but needs some work to get window resizing/orientation down.
